ASICS : WHAT KIND OF MODELS TO CHOOSE ?
History of Asics running shoes
Asics is a
sports accessories and equipment brand founded on
21 July 1947 in Japan by Kihachiro Onitsuka. The term "Asics
comes from the first letters of the Latin expression "Anima Sana in
Coropore Sano", which means in English
" A healthy mind in a healthy body. "
Initially known in the world of basketball, Asics made a place for itself in
running when the Ethiopian Abebe Bikila wins
the marathon at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics wearing the
Tiger shoes. More recently, professional
triathletes,
Kristian Blummenfelt and Flora Duffy, obtained the
first place in men's and women's triathlon at the Tokyo
Olympic Games in 2021
thanks to the new model with carbon plate of the

Asics shoes: For which type of runner?
It is not easy to find a shoe that fits your foot especially when you are a beginner. This is why Asics has created a wide range of products to meet the needs of the greatest number of athletes. Thus, all Asics shoes are suitable for the most demanding beginners as well as running experts.
The Asics Road collection
The Asics Magic Speed
The Magic Speed has been designed to give the athlete a sensation of speed and propulsion, thanks in particular to the insertion of a carbon plate located in the forefoot. They are designed for threshold or fartlek training but can also be used in competition. In addition, the foam on the Magic Speed allows for a smooth cushioning.
The Asics Gel-Nimbus
Iconic model from the Asics range with effective cushioning and stability. They will be perfect for your long or short jogging at low intensity. The weight of this shoe makes it complicated to use for threshold or intense sessions. The Asics Gel Nimbus will be perfect for a "heavy" profile runner who is looking for safety and comfort.
The Asics Novablast
The design of this pair is one of the most original in the Asics range. The rebound is one of the strong points of this model at Asics. The Flyte Foam Blast accentuates the bounce and adds a touch of comfort and dynamism. It can be used on your jogging as well as on your track sessions. However, beware, on your track sessions the Novablast shows its limits in terms of stability and dynamism.
The Asics Gel-Kayano
The Gel-Kayano is designed for runners who are looking for stable foot support and good cushioning. It is a comfortable and ideal pair of shoes for beginners, for long or short runs.
The Asics Noosa Tri
With its very original and flashy look (specific to this model), it is impossible to ignore the Asics Noosa tri. It is designed specifically for short distance triathlon. It is a light shoe and therefore intended for competition. It's a shoe that offers dynamism and comfort thanks to the FlyteFoam, ideal for your threshold or MAS sessions. In addition, as it is a shoe designed for triathlon, it is quick and easy to put on.
The Asics Gel-Cumulus
The Asics Gel Cumulus is the ideal shoe for road training, and will accompany you on your split sessions, threshold sessions or long runs. The Asics Gel Cumulus can be used to cover a lot of kilometers without too much trouble and is a durable shoe. The Asics Gel Cumulus is a long lasting shoe, but it lacks a bit of dynamism when it comes to competition.
