defines real-world speed and raises the bar for modern aero wheel performance. Grams of rim, versus grams of drag, make the SES 6.7 the fastest wheel on the road.

Once a rim exceeds 70mm in height, aerodynamic efficiency rapidly decreases and the additional weight begins to offset the marginal aerodynamic gains that the deeper rim provides. These are the lessons learned from more than a decade of research into the ultimate fast aero wheelset in the real world.

Using our experience, CFD and wind tunnel, we found the right balance of aerodynamics, weight and stability to create a wheelset that, in the wind tunnel, rivals the best time trial and triathlon wheels on the market. Add to that a weight of less than 1500 grams, superior stability, and a high-volume design, and you have a wheelset that defines real-world speed.

The SES 6.7 was aerodynamically optimized around a 27mm labeled tire, because the data shows unequivocally that in real-world riding conditions, a higher-volume tire provides more speed, confidence, and control. That's why we developed the SES 27 tire to be the high volume race tire for the modern road cyclist. With an internal rim width of 23mm, the SES 6.7 can be paired with a 25mm tire, but for those who want to reduce rolling resistance and maximize speed, a 27-28mm tire is the optimal width.

Like the rest of the SES wheel line, the SES 6.7 has been optimized for tubeless performance on the road and features a hookless bead that allows for the precise rim dimensions needed to achieve the best tubeless performance. To further enhance tubeless tire and rim reliability, this carbon fiber aero wheelset features the wide ENVE hookless bead (patent pending), a design element on the front edge of the rim that provides a more forgiving surface that, when touched, reduces the likelihood of puncturing a tubeless tire.

  • The SES Difference: There's a simple reason why SES wheels consistently score highest in almost every third-party aerodynamic test. Enve is committed to paying attention to the little things and looking for the marginal gains that others won't
    • Development and test rides have taught the engineers at Enve that the unique rim shapes and constructions between the front and rear wheels optimize efficiency and the riding experience.
    • The front wheels are designed to maximize crosswind stability. A rider's stability on the bike, especially in time trials and triathlons, is critical to aerodynamic efficiency and overall performance.
    • The rear wheels are designed to catch the airflow as it moves from the front of the bike to the rear, maximizing drag reduction.
    • Aerodynamics are optimized for modern high volume tubeless tires.
    • The 2022 SES range has been developed around the ENVE SES 27mm tire.
    • Tested at 32 km/h and 48 km/h. The SES promise of real-world speed is not limited to the cycling elite.
    • Weighted average drag; Not all wind angles are equal. Anemometer data shows that you'll spend most of your time riding in less than 12 degrees of yaw. Weighted average drag is a tool that helps the rider understand the aerodynamic efficiency of a wheelset in real-world wind and riding conditions.
  • Optimized for Tubeless: Tubeless represents the pinnacle of road wheel and tire performance, and hookless design plays an important role. A hookless rim design uses machined metal tooling to establish a precise and consistent bead seat diameter that meets the requirements set forth by the ETRTO. This precise fit between the tubeless tire bead and rim bead seat ensures air and tire retention.
  • Puncture Protection: Most punctures are due to one of two causes: intrusion punctures (staples, thorns, glass, etc.) or pinch punctures (potholes, railroad tracks, rocks, etc.). Although as a rim manufacturer, Enve can do little to prevent punctures, the rim feature called Wide Hookless Bead greatly reduces the likelihood of a pinch bulge. Wide Hookless Bead technology works by providing a blunt surface on which the tire can deflate, dissipating energy over a larger area and preventing damage to the tire. This allows you to use the correct tire pressure without worrying about pinch flats.
  • Enve Premium Road Hub: The Enve Premium Road Hub, which can be considered the core of an SES wheel, brings efficiency, longevity and simplicity to every wheelset. From the geometry of the hub flanges to the longevity of the bearings to the perfect preloadTM, every design detail is the result of more than a decade of combining Enve carbon rims with the best hubs on the market. The key benefits of the Enve Premium Road hub are
    • Hub Body Geometry: The diameter and spacing of the hub flanges, as well as the spoke hole alignment pattern, optimize torsional rigidity, spoke tangency and power transfer.
    • Lightweight: Cold forged and machined 6061 alloy for durable, lightweight performance. Weight: Front 126 grams, rear 256 grams.
    • Premium Stainless Steel Bearings: Selected bearings are premium quality and custom made for Enve. All stainless steel bearings promise that riders who live near the coast, or ride in wet or humid environments, will not have corroded bearings, bushings or external surfaces.
    • Perfect PreloadTM: Enve's system ensures perfect bearing preload from the factory with a wave washer installed on the axle. The result is a maintenance-free design that promises longer bearing life and improved bearing efficiency over the life of the hub.
