The Foundation wheels are a tribute to the original ENVE road wheels which were introduced to the market in 2007. Each wheel in the Foundation collection presents a multitude of exclusive technologies essential for obtaining the designation of "best in its class". These wheels benefit from a knowledge base built on more than a decade of development of the dynamic wheels of the premium Smart ENVE System (SES) range.
To obtain the low drag and high stability performance provided by the rim shapes, ENVE has taken the broad lines of SES rim development, the main difference between Foundation and SES as long as the rim geometries are matching (front and rear) while the SES rims have specially optimized shapes for the front and rear positions of the bike. Thanks to this development, the ENVE Foundation offer train reductions similar or better than the wheels of the competition even the most high-end.
TUBELESS System
ENVE Foundation wheels are only compatible with Tubeless tires, note that these wheels have been designed to be more effective when combined with a 25 mm tubeless road tire, of course they are compatible with Tubeless tires mounted in an air chamber for the most reluctant. Please note, a list of compatible tires is defined by the brand.
Wide Hookless Bead
The ENVE Foundation is also equipped with ENVE's Wide Hookless Bead technology. This technology is defined as a large area of the rim flanges. By creating this greater width, the impacts of the borders, potholes and broken pieces are distributed over a larger area, which reduces the probability of punctures by pinching. In addition, this characteristic increases the impact resistance of the rim.
Foundation Road Hub
high-end hubs, the Foundation Road hub uses the proven ID360 40t ratchet drive mechanism and the ENVE maintenance-free automatic charging system aptly called Perfect Preload.
This system eliminates the possibility that the hub will develop a clearance. It also eliminates the need for the consumer to adjust the load himself. In regards to
bearings, the Foundation RoadHub is fitted with high quality, fully sealed NTN steel bearings.
