What to do if you are in between bike sizes?
If you are on the edge of two different bike sizes, don't worry, you'll probably be ok on either size (rather than thinking that one size will be awful and the other will fit). Indeed, bikes are adjustable: the seatpost can slide up and down, the saddle can move backwards and forwards and you can even switch out parts like the stem for different sized ones to help the bike fit better.
Finding out whether or not you should pick a bigger or a smaller frame is sometimes as simple as personal preference, but there are a few simple ways to work out which might suit best:
- If you’re flexible, you might prefer a shorter head tube, so the smaller size might work out better for you. You can use a longer stem to make the reach more comfortable.
- On a bigger bike, the reach to the handlebars will be longer. This means that if you have proportionally longer arms, you might be more comfortable on a bigger frame.

To create the Cube Nuroad we took inspiration from our race and cyclocross bikes, then threw a little mountain bike DNA into the mix. There's plenty of clearance for big, grippy and comfortable 45 mm tires – or 40 mm if you run mudguards at the same time. There are very tidy rack, guard and kickstand mounts, and neat Internal Cable Routing helps keep gear shifts grit- and mud-free for longer. Quick-release wheels are easy to fit and remove for transport or storage. The full carbon fork isn't just lightweight – it also helps reduce vibration from the road and features lowrider rack mounts. And with sizes ranging from XXS to XL, it's simple to find the perfect fit.
Less can sometimes be more, which is why, for the Cube Nuroad EX, we chose Shimano's gravel-specific GRX 1x12 gears – for a wide range of ratios with minimal fuss. A Newmen Performance 25 gravel wheelset shod with light, tough and grippy Continental Terra Trail 45 mm tires – and Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes – keep you in full control, all of the time. There's a vibration-filtering, full carbon fork for ride-all-day comfort. And a full complement of rack mounts – both front and rear – makes it easy to equip your Nuroad EX for anything from the daily commute to weekend adventures.
