What to do if you are in between bike sizes?

If you are on the edge of two different bike sizes, don't worry, you'll probably be ok on either size (rather than thinking that one size will be awful and the other will fit). Indeed, bikes are adjustable: the seatpost can slide up and down, the saddle can move backwards and forwards and you can even switch out parts like the stem for different sized ones to help the bike fit better.

Finding out whether or not you should pick a bigger or a smaller frame is sometimes as simple as personal preference, but there are a few simple ways to work out which might suit best:
  • If you’re flexible, you might prefer a shorter head tube, so the smaller size might work out better for you. You can use a longer stem to make the reach more comfortable.
  • On a bigger bike, the reach to the handlebars will be longer. This means that if you have proportionally longer arms, you might be more comfortable on a bigger frame.

The new Primal 27.5 is a construction dedicated for a more aggressive ride with a slacker head tube angle and with Boost standard dropouts. If equipped with downhill tires the frame will provide a comfortable ride in a variety of different terrains, including steep downhill sections and long climbs. When using plus size tires the frame allows you to cope easily with singletracks, twisted flow tracks as well as enjoy pumptracks and small dirts.
The new Primal 27.5 frame is designed for a wide range of 27.5” tire widths – from 2.3” to 2.8” and dedicated for the forks with 130–160 mm travel.


Plus size wheels opened a world of new possibilities for the hardtails – wider tires improve the traction and riding comfort. Popularity of the 27.5” plus size tires renewed also the popularity of the 29-er hardtails which are the best choice for those who want to enjoy long rides in the mountains. The new series of our Primal frames and bikes are designed either for 27.5” wheels with a wide range of tire width - from 2.3” to 2.8” or for 29” wheels with tires wide up to 2.35”. Both new frames - Primal 27.5” and Primal 29” boast new more aggressive geometry with a slacker head tube angle and with Boost standard dropouts.
