Description

The new Shimano Ultegra Di2 R8050 rear derailleur is inspired by its big brother, the Dura-Ace Di2 R9150.

Shimano worked on the integration of its engine. It is now more discreet and perfectly integrated. The rear derailleur communicates with the front thanks to the Syncro-Shift.
This technology allows the rider to deal only with the rear derailleur control, the Syncro-Shift managing the chainring change. A Semi-Syncro mode corrects the rear derailleur in order to make gear shifting smoother.

It benefits from the Shimano Direct Mount binding , providing a stiffer derailleur / frame assembly for improved shifting while minimizing the risk of frame damage in the event of a crash.
Like the Dura-Ace R9150, the Ultegra R8050 derailleur incorporates Shadow Plus technology, which places the derailleur body under the cassette. This is intended to protect the derailleur in the event of drops or projections, but also to keep it the same distance from the cassette, regardless of the sprocket used.

The R8050 rear derailleur is available in short and long cage. The short version allows the installation of cassettes with teeth ranging from 11-25, to 11-30. The long version will allow the fitting of teeth ranging from 11-28 to the new 11-34 for the most difficult necks.
