Boussole de référence parmi les boussoles de randonnée et de trekking, la Silva Field présente trois grands avantages : de bonnes performances (précision de 1degrés et résolution de 2degrés), de la fiabilité et une utilisation facile. C'est une boussole résistante : le tour du cadran orientable est construit en caoutchouc Dryflex (matériau solide et antidérapant) et elle ne craint ni l'eau ni les grands écarts de température. Elle est étanche, elle peut s'utiliser sous un climat très humide, très froid ou très chaud (entre -40degrésC et 60degrésC).

La boussole de randonnée et boussole de trekking Silva Field ne pèse que 28 grammes : poids léger. Elle est plutôt compacte : elle mesure 85 mm de long, 55 mm de large et elle a une épaisseur de 10 mm. Son mode d'utilisation ne requière que 3 étapes rapides : c'est le système Silva 1-2-3.
