Get ready to kick it into high gear both uphill and downhill with this updated, mid-top version of our X ULTRA™ 4 GORE-TEX. As agile as a trail running shoe, it offers all the stability, grip and waterproof protection you need to tackle technical terrain. Equipped with a new chassis, this shoe provides even better protection for sensitive joints without restricting freedom of movement.

Product Highlights

  • Trail running-inspired agility: The result of our trail running expertise, this shoe is both lighter and more agile, for optimal ease on uneven surfaces.
  • Enhanced Stability: The new ADV-C Chassis targets the joints on the outside of the foot to maximize stability without restricting movement, while the high rise last improves ankle support.
  • All-Terrain Grip: The Contagrip® MA outsole hugs the terrain, even if it's wet or slippery, for better stride control, especially on downhill runs.

  • The Contagrip® MA adapts to a multitude of surfaces. It offers an excellent compromise between geometry and compound to ensure high confidence on wet, dry, hard or unstable terrain, while providing extended durability.
  • Providing security and protection for the outer ankle joints, this chassis increases stability while offering flexibility and suppleness in the forefoot for optimal freedom of movement and a smooth stride.
  • These movable fins help support the foot and its movement by adapting to its shape and volume.
  • High-penetration, multi-directional grip studs provide better traction on soft ground, including mud and unstable soil.
  • High performance EVA foam absorbs shock.
  • Synthetic upper material provides excellent durability and protection for outdoor activities.
  • A special treatment prevents the material from soaking up water during showers and light precipitation for added protection.
  • Soft, breathable lining for maximum comfort.
  • Attached to the upper on both sides, the tongue stays centered and prevents debris from entering the shoe.
  • Convenient storage for the Quicklace™ lacing system.
  • The SensiFit™ wraps the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a secure, precise and nearly custom fit all around the foot.
  • The seamless upper provides a smooth, glove-like fit and feel.
  • Leather, synthetic or rubber band that wraps around the bottom of the foot and protects the sides and midfoot.
  • Molded to the contours of the foot, this OrthoLite® insole provides exceptional cushioning, breathability and durability for a more comfortable, high-performance shoe.
  • Simple, one-step lacing system. Easy on and easy off.
  • GORE-TEX® keeps your feet dry inside and out.
  • To reduce our environmental impact, we don't use harmful perfluorocarbons (PFCs) to ensure the water resistance of our footwear. Our GORE-TEX waterproof models do not contain PFCs (perfluorocarbons of environmental concern) but may contain PFCs.
