We have been working on Mullet- (29/27) bikes for 3 years now with our different DH teams. This work allowed us to understand that to transform a bike into a Mullet, it is not enough to put a 27 inches wheel at the back.
The geometry of the bike must be completely reworked, the kinematics also. It is thanks to this experience that we are now able to present you the most successful version of the META V4 ever produced, the Meta SX!
Equipping this Meta SX with differentiated 29/27 wheels is not a trend we are following. This way the bike has a much more balanced grip between front and rear: the large 29" wheel in the front allows for more confidence and climbing ability while the 27.5" rear wheel offers more handling and responsiveness.
The result is a bike that is more agile and easy on the hill, more efficient in braking and more dynamic in pushing.
Once again, our choice to work with Aluminum allowed us to accompany this change of wheel size with an adjustment of the geometry.
A 10mm shorter reach, a straightened head angle and 10mm longer chainstays allow us to reposition the rider in the center of the bike, bringing more forgiveness and precision in the technique.
One of the points that evolves the most is without a doubt the functioning of the suspension. Apart from the kinematics, which have been reworked to bring more dynamism, we have taken care to match the stiffness management of the rear triangle to the whole dynamics of the bike. Through new double row Enduro Bearing, eliminating all parasitic deformations, the new Meta SX offers a perfect deformation / stiffness management to bring grip, comfort and performance.
