DT Swiss's mission is to offer users of electric mountain bikes, wheels adapted to the constraints generated by their practices. This is how the DT Swiss HYBRID range was born.
The wheels of an Electrically Assisted MTB must be able to withstand shocks and torsions much greater than that of a conventional MTB. What could be more normal, given that you drive faster everywhere!
The essence of mountain biking is to overcome any obstacle, no matter how small. This is ultimately what gives us mountain bikers the most pleasure. The DT Swiss H1700 Spline® fulfill this mission perfectly.
Electric bikes now allow us to go up and down without downtime. Reliability is therefore essential, as is lightness to fully enjoy your day of riding, after all, it's all about having fun!
The 30mm wide rim is ultra versatile, it is intended for both XC and All Mountain use, including Enduro Light. This section gives the tire a better ball to increase grip and comfort, which will have a positive impact on your riding.
The hub incorporates the now famous Ratchet System freehub body, with incredible resistance, to guarantee the rider optimum reliability all year round, in all circumstances.
The H1700 benefits from DT Swiss know-how to become the perfect example of versatility in terms of VAE wheel.

The test of the components of the HYBRID range revealed two things:
This made it possible to optimize the profile of the rims by favoring lightness in critical areas and by reinforcing strategic areas. HYBRID wheels therefore remain light while being able to support a total weight of 150kg.
The hubs are also experiencing real optimization, necessary for the practice of E-Bike. The whole system is improved. They benefit from an oversized body, ultra-resistant axles as well as specific spokes. A 24-tooth hardened steel Ratchet System freewheel and oversized bearings and steel rotos give the hub extraordinary strength, able to withstand huge torques while ensuring quick engagement.
- The contact area of the spokes on the rim and the hub must be more reinforced.
- Some areas may remain as light as standard rims while others need to be reinforced.
