The Wolf Tooth Direct Mount Shimano Boost 3 mm Drop-Stop ST chainring is designed for Shimano Direct Mount cranksets and features Wolf Tooth's patented Drop-Stop design for optimal chain life, chain retention and mud clearance.

Compatibility

  • Compatible with Shimano XTR M9100, XT M8100 and SLX M7100 series 12-speed cranksets.
  • Wolf Tooth's patented wide/narrow Drop-Stop tooth profile for ultimate chain retention and mud removal capability.
  • Super Boost cranksets (models M8120, M8130, M7120 and M7130) use the Boost chainring. These Super Boost cranksets have a longer axle and do not use the Super Boost chainring. This crank and chainring combo should only be used on bikes with Super Boost rear hub spacing (157 mm).
  • Shimano Boost cranksets (models M9100, M8100, M7100, MT610) will use a Boost chainring with Boost rear hub spacing (148 mm) and a Super Boost chainring with Super Boost rear hub spacing (157 mm).
  • Available in two different tooth profiles for optimum performance according to your chain type. Use Drop-Stop ST for use with Shimano HyperGlide+ 12-speed chains. Use Drop-Stop A for all 9-, 10- and 11-speed chains, or Sram Eagle, KMC, Connex or Wippermann 12-speed chains.
  • Compatible only with Shimano HyperGlide+ 12-speed chain. Symmetric Trapezoidal (ST) tooth shape optimized for Shimano HG+ chain.

Recommendations

  • If you plan to ride in very muddy conditions, the brand recommends using a chain guide or chain guard in addition to a clutch-type rear derailleur. Without these precautions, you risk chain jumping and/or suction.
