AbsoluteBlack Oval Direct Mount Chainring are designed here for the Hollowgram crank family : SI, SL, SISL, SISL2. Incredibly stiff and light. Shifting is superfast thanks to the patented shift ramp design. Sold as a set only. This is the most premium oval chainring on the market with scientifically proven performance gains.
The chainrings use a bcd mounting system, so they are only sold in sets of 50/34 or 52/36T combinations.
Oval chainrings do not produce more power, they increase pedaling efficiency through better power transmission. That is to say, it is not necessarily by pedaling harder that you will go further. But the less force you lose, the more energy you keep, allowing you to pedal harder when you need to and thus reducing your general fatigue. That's why you can ride faster, longer and further with oval chainrings.
Studies conducted by the University of Primorska, Slovenia, show significant differences between the use of AbsoluteBlack Oval chainrings and conventional round chainrings. It is proven that using an oval chainring can provide up to a 9% increase in pedal stroke efficiency, up to 7% less oxygen consumption, 15% less breathing and up to a 10% decrease in heart rate.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE A DOUBLE OVAL CHAINRING :
Remove the crank from the bike. Open the lockring using the Cannondale Hollowgram KT012 spider removal tool. Generously grease the corrugated interface of the crank arm, then fit the new spider chainring in the same manner as the original chainring. Apply a small amount of medium strength Loctite to the threads of the locking ring and tighten to approximately 47-54Nm. You will need the "Cannondale Hollowgram Spider Removal Tool KT012" or similar to open and close the ring. As with all chainrings, the bolts that hold Cannondale Spidering chainrings together should be checked regularly to ensure they are tight. Each of the five bolts should be tightened to approximately 5Nm.
