The flexibility of the flange prevents air calls and thus removes any potential sloshing during the race. Its rigid bottom facilitates the descent of the flask into the pocket of the bag and prevents it from twisting when trying to replace it. A real time saver when moving, and the assurance of comfortable positioning of the flask along the body.
