Developing new shoes is like improving your favorite recipe: the basis stays the same, but you keep fine-tuning the ratio. True to ION's perfect blend of grip, durability, ease of use and style, flat pedal shoes never stop evolving. The main ingredient called ?Pin Tonic sole concept 2.0? is now available in a more delicious version to satisfy all runners avid for endless races throughout the day. The new outsole profile features positive threads in the forefoot and heel area for perfect traction when pushing or carrying your bike, while the negative profile provides perfect grip and crampon space during the race. The negative profile on the other hand provides perfect grip and space for the pins while riding. In addition, the SUPTraction has a more sticky rubber. Since changing the whole recipe isn't always the right solution, the Scrub Select features a cushioned EVA midsole and a comfortable sockliner. Since grip is only part of the power transmission, the front toe area is lowered to achieve maximum pedal contact. While a good bike shoe isn't just about grip, these flat pedal strokes provide protection against rocks and roots in the toe area and against contact with the cranks for the ankles (Ankle_Pad).
